FND132 Fun of the Internet Week 3 Materials and Assignment

Listed in: FND132 | Fundamentals of the Internetwjm @ 9:16 pm

Here is the ZIP file of the Week 3 examples. Also, check these two items for the instructions on configuring TextEdit for New Documents and Opening Documents.

Your assignment: Write me a three paragraph autobiography. That means three HTML paragraphs.

Give examples of hr, br, two divs, two spans, three different headings (h1 thru h6), strong and em, color and background-color. Also make sure you use the proper HTML document structure (html, head, title, body) and make your title meaningful.

Use HTML color codes as referenced on w3schools or this little interactive thingy from ColorSchemer .

And of course, try to use this to give me a sense of your own style!

If you use a PC, use notepad or go out and download textpad. Textpad beats notepad. Save as .html always. Bring this HTML file to class with you next week.

Web Development Links for Header Creation

Listed in: Web Developmentwjm @ 12:51 pm

Hey there Saturday folks …

For next week, prepare the following:

  1. Create a page header using the slicing technique. Take the code that Photoshop creates for you and cut/paste into the code view. Attach the Dreamweaver behaviors to the buttons.
  2. Create the rollover effects on three or four buttons. You must have at least one example of the Photoshop rollover results
  3. Create your front page/home page with three links to your other not-yet-created pages
  4. Use external CSS for all properties on your front page/content pages

You may use list-based CSS navigation for your site if you choose, but you still need to do one rollover using slicing. These tutorials should help you get started on Photoshop.
