Project III Requirements
The Magazine Cover
Dimensions:
8 in. x 10 in. (w x h)
150 PPI
Submit:
A folder with your last name containing the following:
1. PSD File (yourlastname.psd), unflattened
2. ANY original source files used in your image (JPGs, scans, etc.)
3. PSD, TIF, or PDF, flattened - This is the copy you will print!
For the full-color printed file (from Student Service Bureau or other print outlet — do not use your home inkjet printer; must be color and professionally printed!!!)
• Follow requirements as specified by your Service Bureau
• This will cost you a small amount of cash…($1.25 per copy)
• Print cards cost $5.00 for 4 copies, available from Financial Services or the Library
Requirements:
Design a magazine cover of your choosing. Please make it portfolio-worthy and professional. Use a fictional magazine name. You may “mimic” a popular magazine if you need inspiration.
• Include three images selected out from other source files
• Include at least five text layers and some text effects and formatting
• Retouch one image: provide original source file and retouched file
• Submit an unflattened PSD file AND a flattened file (TIF or PSD)
• Rasterize all text layers in your print file (do not allow font substitution)
Print submission: Please abide by the rules of the Service Bureau
• Flatten your image for output
• Remember/understand your color space needs
• TIF, PSD, or PDF

Rough Draft includes rough images and text content and your working PSD file)
Project III deliverables due at the beginning of class on the final date of submission:
Unflattened PSD File
Flattened File for Print Format (TIF, PDF)
Any original images/source images
Final Print
